Blue Hill at Stone Barns | $208 Menu

Blue Hill at Stone Barns, beloved by First Lady Michelle Obama and her beleaguered husband, has introduced a longer, $208 dinner menu. The 12-course farmer’s feast, at just a few weeks old (like Blue Hill’s embryonic eggs), also includes the option of a wine pairing for $150. These prices don’t include a Chevy Suburban to shuttle you and your drunk clients back to NYC from Westchester, so plan accordingly. 

Stone Barns, the Pocantico Hills outpost of Dan Barber’s farm-to-table “locavore” restaurant, still serves its “shorter” 8-course menu for $148 and 5-course tasting for $108. Wine pairings for those menus are $110 and $80 respectively. So for your budgeting what follows is the REAL COST of the 12-course dinner after 7.375% local sales tax and 18% gratuity: 

  • For One: $245. With wine: $449
  • For Two: $522. With wine: $898   
  • For Four: $1,043.12. With wine: $1,795

BUY HOLD or SELL? I’ll pass on the pricey pairings as the wines-by-the-glass selection, put together by the esteemed Thomas Carter, should inspire (or perhaps inebriate) you sufficiently. But that said, I’ll issue a BUY as Stone Barns ranks just behind Per Se, in the eyes of this critic, as the city’s best restaurant, a somewhat subjective title. Blue Hill’s Manhattan location, also beloved by Michelle Obama, is mostly a la carte, with a shorter $78 tasting.
