CITIZENS OF THE WORLD: We have another fine entry in The Price Hike’s “Most Excellent Menu Contest,” which honors restaurants that use Tumblr to publish their prices and nightly offerings.
Today’s contender is Thirty Acres, a “jersey restaurant” in Jersey City that raised over $18,000 on Kickstarter (congrats) and that was the subject of a great New York Times review (congrats again). The good people running this joint are Kevin Pemoulie, a former partner and chef de cuisine at Momofuku Noodle Bar, and his wife, Alex. Thirty Acres is BYO until a liquor license is acquired. The venue accepts all major credit cards, including American Express.
Kevin & Alex use Tumblr, along with Facebook, as the main websites for Thirty Acres; they regularly post updated menus and Instagrams of nightly specials. Prices range from $3-$27. We’re particularly intrigued by the raw fluke with trout roe ($12), as well as the cavetelli with jersey tomato sauce, smoked trout, shishitos and basil ($14). Check it out on the menu pictured above. We look forward to seeing more from Thirty Acres!
